Electronic Arts is back for another dose of street racing, and they're inviting you to the App Store to join in the fun -- that even includes iPhone 5 users, who will get a dose of widescreen fun in the latest Need for Speed release.
Electronic Arts Inc. has released Need for Speed: Most Wanted to the App Store overnight, the company's latest chapter in high-octane, turbo-powered street racing for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
"Buckle up, hit the gas and hold on tight; you’re in for the ride of your life," the app description teases. "Outrun cops, outsmart rivals -- and outdrive your friends -- in the most dangerous Need for Speed yet. Do you dare to be the Most Wanted?"
The latest Need for Speed is geared toward closet rebels who want to get into a little mischief on their virtual roads, evading a relentless police force as they clash with street racers.
"Race and chase hot cars like the SRT Viper GTS, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Hummer H1 Alpha, and many more," the App Store description continues. "Feel the intensity of no-brakes-allowed street racing with realistic full-car damage for the first time on mobile."
Judging from early customer reviews, the iPhone 5-optimized graphics look pretty slick and the universal app works on everything from an iPhone 3GS, third-gen iPod touch or later or iPad running iOS 4.0 or later. Need for Speed: Most Wanted can be all yours for a mere $6.99 in the App Store.
