Kids love iPads, and those whose parents have Netflix subscriptions probably love that company's "Just for Kids" section as well. Now, those two great tastes are coming together for a "special kid-friendly Netflix experience."
The Netflix U.S. & Canada Blog has announced that its "Just for Kids" section is now available on the iPad, marking the first time the company has made such specialized content available in one place on mobile devices.
"I have some good news for my family and yours: Netflix 'Just for Kids' is now available on iPad, the first mobile version of this special kid-friendly Netflix experience," the blog post announced on Monday. "Now parents, including myself, can be sure their kids find what they want and won't straggle into something that isn't appropriate.
"Netflix 'Just for Kids' is filled with movies and TV shows appropriate for kids 12 and under, organized in a kid friendly way with large images of their favorite characters and genres such as superheroes, girl power and sing-alongs," the blog continues. "Just click the new Just for Kids' button in the upper left hand side of the Netflix App to enter the section."
Unfortunately, for those of you keeping an original iPad around just for the kiddies, Just for Kids is only available on the iPad 2 or new iPad for now. However, Netflix promises the section will "come to the original iPad and Android-powered tablets later."
