Once an app has been around for a few years and has already squashed most of its bugs, what's left? In the case of Netflix, it's all about the little things that make your viewing experience better.
Netflix for iOS hit version 3.0 on Wednesday, adding an equal number of enhancements to its user interface to offer viewers "a better playback experience."
At the top of the list is the ability to see the title of the movie or TV show currently being watched, simply by touching the player UI during playback. (That ought to come in handy for those of us with extremely short memories.)
For viewers who want full control over their experience, Netflix 3.0 restores the Zoom icon -- now you can switch to full-screen mode anytime you'd like, regardless of how the filmmakers intended to present their work to you.
Last but not least, Netflix has improved the placement of the play/pause and Back-10 buttons to make it more finger-friendly.
Sure, none of this is Earth-shattering, but for heavy Netflix users, the 20.4MB download for version 3.0 is sure to please. It's available now on the App Store and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
