Friday, April 20 will be a special day if you live in South Korea or 11 other countries -- that’s when Apple’s new iPad will be touching down in stores there and ready for you to get your little fingers all over it.
Apple has announced that the new iPad will arrive in 12 more countries this Friday, April 20, with nine others scheduled for the following week. That brings the total to 56 countries in only 42 days since its March 16 debut, which is surely a new record even for Cupertino.
The most prominent of the dozen countries launching this week is South Korea, but the new iPad also will be available beginning on Friday, April 20 in Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St Maarten, Uruguay and Venezuela.
And Apple isn’t about to stop there.
“Beginning on Friday, April 27, the new iPad will be available in Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, South Africa and Thailand,” the company’s press release on Monday revealed.
The press release also notes that 4G LTE is only currently available in the U.S. and Canada, something that’s created a bit of an uproar in LTE-enabled countries in Europe and the land down under, Australia.
