The New York Times reported today on a new study showing that people who already own or plan to purchase a new tablet device only have eyes for the iPad.
Of those surveyed, over 50 percent responded that they already owned a tablet, or planned to buy one soon. 95 percent of that group picked the iPad as their tablet of choice.

The study was published by Robert W. Baird, a wealth management and analyst company, yesterday. It was conducted through a survey of 1,114 people between 22 and 60 years old, 98 percent of whom live in the United States.
Participants in the survey were allowed to pick multiple table choices, but that did not help the would-be iPad killers. The usual suspects in Apple's legal battles all fared poorly in the survey; the HP TouchPad was only selected 10 percent of the time, Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Motorola's Xoom each netted only about 8 percent of the votes.
And just in case you were scared that the iPad was completely cannibalizing computer sales, the survey also reported that 83 percent of tablet owners still plan to buy a traditional computer along with their tablet.
