One of the great things about the iPad is that nearly all iPhone games
will run on it right out of the box--that's a huge library of titles.
But, iPad
owners will be looking for games that exploit the higher resolution. TouchArcade reports that Ngomco is working to fill that gap.
Ngmoco CEO Neil Young (formerly of Electronic Arts) told Computerworld, "Between us and Freeverse we will have about six or so iPad titles around the launch." Last month Ngmoco acquired Freeverse, an iPhone app developer. Freeverse's Flick Fishing, NBA Hotshot, and CastleCraft are among the converted titles, as well as the new space conquest game, Warp Gate. Ngmoco titles coming to the iPad are two iPhone apps currently released in Canada, GodFinger and We Rule.
Young said they were also considering an iPad version of Dropship, one of the first games that his company released on the iPhone. "That game hadn't performed as well as we'd hoped but it was really easy to do, plus it will look great on the larger screen."
Unfortunately Ngmoco's website doesn't have any screenshots to drool over yet.
