With an assist from NORAD, those wanting to track down "the jolly old elf" can do so on an iPhone or iPod Touch today for Christmas Eve, according to AppleInsider.
Users can use their Maps application on their devices, and it is also integrated with Google Maps on the web. iPhone and iPod Touch users can easily enter "Santa" on the Maps application to see his current location.
The annual NORAD event began back in 1955, when an ad for children to call Santa actually printed the phone number for the commander in chief of CONAD instead, who had been NORAD's predecessor. The director at the time, Col. Harry Shoup, had his staff do a radar check for Santa's location. Children who called were given updates. Shoup, 91, had passed away this year.
