If you’re the forgetful type, you may have already discovered NotifyMe, the slick iOS app already available for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. Now, the developer is bringing the same style and utility to your computer with a new piece of the puzzle called NotifyMe Desktop.
PoweryBase Inc. has announced the release of NotifyMe Desktop, the company’s latest component for their popular cloud-based reminder software that’s already warmed the hearts of many iOS fans. While the company also maintains a web-based method of entering notifications to be pushed to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, NotifyMe Desktop aims to streamline the process.
“NotifyMe lets you create simple or recurring reminders very quickly,” the app description explains. “Hit the system-wide shortcut to open Quick-Entry and start typing. Quick-Entry window is keyboard optimized so you don't need to use your mouse at all. When a reminder is due, the notification pops up on your Mac, iPhone or iPad (iOS apps sold separately).”
PoweryBase apps are fully cloud-based, with automatic syncing and no subscription fees -- you simply buy the apps you need and the cloud and sync features come along for the ride, absolutely free. NotifyMe Desktop brings a few Mac-specific features to the table, including Growl notifications, nine different notification sounds, a parser that converts text into time in the Quick-Entry window and iCal support for real-time sync.
NotifyMe Desktop is available now from the Mac App Store for $15.99 and requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later; you can also grab NotifyMe for the iPhone/iPod touch or NotifyMe for iPad from the App Store, both available at the new lower price of $2.99 and $4.99 respectively, for a limited time only.
