Ever found yourself on vacation, or a business trip, arrived at the hotel and then suddenly hunger pangs set in? One problem though. You haven't the foggiest about the local eateries, or where you could even find the nearest Golden Arches. Or maybe you're looking for a great shopping area. Whatever your travel scenario, sometimes advice from actual people can be the greatest resource, and a new app, Opinionaided, aims to provide just that.
The app was previously in beta, but now, by tapping into a highly engaged user base, questions that are asked in the new section can deliver back an average of 80 responses, even about a dozen in the first three minutes. Questions that are posed in the Places & Travel category can average about 10X the responses compared to the questions that are asked by those on Facebook and Twitter.
"When we first launched Opinionaided we thought it would be used solely for advice on products, but we soon discovered that users wanted real-time feedback on all of their questions throughout the day," said Dan Kurani, CEO of Opinionaided. "The Places & Travel category is a great way to improve your life wherever you are, in a new place or just a new neighborhood."
How it works:
1) Anyone can download the free app for their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from the iTunes App Store here, then register and answer questions from different categories with a simple thumbs up or thumbs down, and the option of text comments.
2) Then if one wants to ask a question, or choose a question and an associated image, determine the best category and demographic for it, and then submit it for others to answer. Users can ask questions such as "What is the best way to fly from San Francisco to New York?" or "Is Rome hot in May?"
After submitting a question, users can immediately see results categorized by the percentage that responded positively or negatively as well as listing separately all user comments. Then consumers can reply back to the comments or create a new question for others to vote on.
Download the app here, and pose those questions!
