Last week, app developer Outfit7 announced a milestone with more than 100 million apps downloaded. So how do you follow up a feat such as this? By introducing your latest and greatest character, then having it skyrocket to the number one entertainment app within 48 hours.
Outfit7 has announced the availability of their latest Talking Friends app in the form of Talking Ben the Dog, now available as separate versions for both the iPhone/iPod touch as well as the iPad. The new app comes right on the heels of the company proudly proclaiming it has served more than 100 million downloads, making their work some of the most downloaded on both iOS and Android platforms.
The latest entry to the popular Talking Friends series is Talking Ben the Dog, the first of the series to inhabit multiple environments as well as offer a new level of deeper interactivity and communication with the user. The new character, Ben, lives in a bachelor pad where he prefers to read his newspaper in peace and quiet -- as well as a chemistry lab where his “eccentric and loveable personality” really shines with “zany experiments that go hilariously awry.”
“As a boy, I loved Tom & Jerry cartoons with all their antics and wackiness so Talking Tom Cat and now Talking Ben the Dog have definitely been inspired by those characters,” says Andrej Nabergoj, Outfit7’s CEO. “With Ben, we’ve raised the bar in the mobile entertainment category by significantly expanding character development and storytelling with advances in personality, environment, and interactive communication. Going forward, we will continue to push character development to new heights. You may even see Ben and Tom together at some point.”
As always, you can share Talking Ben’s interactions via email or even post the results to Facebook or YouTube to share with friends and family. Talking Ben the Dog for iPhone/iPod touch and Talking Ben the Dog for iPad are both free, with a wide variety of extra fun available via in-app purchases. Both apps are available for immediate download from the App Store.
