Labor Day (and the summer season) is now behind us, and things should start heating up this week in the tech world with new product announcements from Nokia, Motorola and Amazon. And hey, if the rumors of a September 12 Apple event are true, we should see invites going out to the media in the next 24-48 hours, too. Ponder that as we dive into your overnight recap for Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Report: Stuttgart Apple Store Pushed Up for Next iPhone Release?
Apple has yet to confirm a September 21 release for the next iPhone, but most everyone already seems to be taking it as gospel. MacRumors has dug up a curious item that could support the theory, noting that a Stuttgart, Germany Apple retail opening originally planned for Saturday, September 22 has been pushed up two days to Thursday, September 20. Given that Apple traditionally launches new stores on Saturdays, this does seem a telling move, but it wouldn't be the first time -- a Houston, Texas opening was also rescheduled for the release of the new iPad earlier this year.
Nevermind: Bruce Willis' Wife Says iTunes Story Untrue
Never underestimate the power of Twitter! No sooner did stories begin circulating over the weekend that actor Bruce Willis was weighing a lawsuit against Apple than his wife has debunked it as false. Emma Heming-Willis responded to an inquiring Twitter fan with a simple "it's not a true story," effectively ending the rumor that her Hollywood hubby was planning to sue Apple over its iTunes Store policy that apparently forbids a user from transferring their purchased music to next of kin. Heming-Willis has yet to elaborate on her response, but for now, the short national nightmare is over.

The update is first expected to arrive today for iOS, with The Guardian reporting that an Android version is on the way in the "near future." Now if we could just get a version here in America, we'd be extra happy about that...

Google May Release 3G-Equipped Nexus 7 in October
AppleInsider is reporting that Google may be planning a cellular-equipped version of its popular Nexus 7 Android tablet. MoDaCo claims it will arrive with at least 3G connectivity in about six weeks, but with no other changes to the hardware. That would certainly squash one of few complaints about the otherwise fine seven-inch tablet, although there's no word on which carriers might be invited to the party.
