Many Palm Pre owners were disappointed when Apple disabled syncing between the Pre and iTunes with the last iTunes update. Even though Palm might not be in the right by circumventing Apple's syncing protocol, Pre owners enjoyed the ease of getting their songs from iTunes on the device. After being denied by Apple with the iTunes 8.2.1 update, Palm is fighting back. Web OS 1.1 allows Palm users to regain syncing access with iTunes 8.2.1.
Pre users should be getting a notification about the update, and some users may already have the new software on their devices. According to the Palm blog,
"Palm webOS 1.1 re-enables Palm media sync. That’s right -- you once again can have seamless access to your music, photos and videos from the current version of iTunes (8.2.1)."
