There are already plenty of PDF readers for the iPad, ranging from excellent to mediocre. But how many of them can actually perform advanced functions such as filling forms or applying signatures? That’s where PDF Expert comes in.
Readdle’s PDF Expert 1.5 for iPad is now available in the App Store, which extends the feature set of the cutting edge app even further, adding the ability to sign documents, fill in scanned forms and even typing text directly onto a PDF file -- all of this in addition to the app’s existing skill at marking up annotations.
Of course, none of these magic tricks would be handy if they didn’t allow you to view edited PDF documents elsewhere, and PDF Expert files are fully compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview for the Mac and other applications.
"Thousands of people receive important documents that need to be signed or filled in and sent back,” said Igor Zhadanov, CEO of Readdle. “Typically you would print out the file, use the ink pen to make necessary changes and then either fax or email the scanned document. PDF Expert lets you go paperless, by doing all of this right on your iPad, which is faster, greener and more secure."
PDF Expert for iPad 1.5 enhances existing annotation functionality, finally adding the long-awaited ability to fill in forms as well as typing text directly into a PDF file -- including PDF forms.
The app also allows users to sign PDF documents with their own handwritten signature, making short work of contracts, agreements, statements and more -- simply use your stamp signature and send the file back via e-mail or through cloud services such as MobileMe iDisk, Dropbox, Google Docs and more.
PDF Expert for iPad 1.5 is $4.99 and available now from the App Store. The 7.4MB download is compatible with the iPad only and requires iOS 3.2 or later.
