Why should your iPad have all the fun? That’s what developer Readdle is asking this week as the company rolls out PDF Expert 2.0, a major new version of their iPhone edition which brings feature parity with the iPad edition, including text highlighting, form filling and much more.
Readdle has announced a major update to the iPhone version of PDF Expert on Thursday. The new 2.0 version finally allows the same extensive feature set of the separate iPad version in the palm of your hand, allowing you to make short work of most every PDF-related task.
“With PDF Expert 2, desktop class annotations come to iPhone,” the company announced. “So you can highlight text, add notes and type comments directly on PDF page. Annotate any PDF you have. Strikeout and underline text, change colors or lines. Once you are done, sync changes to Dropbox, upload to FTP or email the file. All edits are visible on the computer so suddenly, working on the iPhone makes more sense.”
Form filling is another new feature borrowed from the tablet version, allowing users to enter values into text fields, including checkboxes, dropdown lists, calculated fields and even submission of form data. Of course, PDF Expert 2.0 for iPhone also allows users to print documents directly from the app via AirPrint.
PDF Expert 2.0 for iPhone is $9.99 and as always, an upgrade for existing users is free. The 15.5MB download is available now and compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad (although a native iPad edition is available separately) and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
