Peak Performing Processors Possible in Q4 '09?
The good folks over at TomsHardware.com reported yesterday on the likelihood of Apple switching over to the 32nm Core i7 by the end of the year. Apple is known for the integration of anything new and powerful into their products. So it's understandably easy to assume that we will see a transition into Intel's Westmere platform by Q4 of this year.
The latest MacBooks and MacBook Pros were just updated in October with the 45nm Penryn Processor. The 32nm processors show a die-shrink over the existing 45nm Intel chip, which is said to offer about a twenty-two percent boost in performance.
Although Apple has yet to take advantage of Intel's latest line of processors for its desktop line, It's strongly suspected that they will also implement this new line of 32nm processors into their series of desktops along the same timeframe as their MacBooks.

Why do they wait so long to move to the new chips? I am waiting for these to go online for the MacPro's so I can switch from M$.
