The folks over at Pebble know the iWatch is coming, but that isn't stopping them from delivering a great experience for the many fans of its successful smartwatch. And with today's launch of the dedicated app store for the device we first heard about back in December, that experience just got better.
Only a few hours after the app store's launch (which you can access through the official Pebble app on iOS), you can find over 1,000 apps and watchfaces designed with the scrappy smartwatch in mind. The apps themselves are sorted accounting to six categories: Daily, Tools & Utilities, Notifications, Remotes, Fitness, and games.
And best of all, it's all currently available for free as Pebble isn't allowing developers to charge for their apps at the moment. On the downside, the store might prove a hurdle for download addicts since the device is currently only capable of running eight apps at a time, but the app store launch comes with a storage feature of sorts that lets users save their apps when they want to switch out one app for another.
Have a Pebble smartwatch yourself? Be sure to download the latest version of the app and let us know how it works for you.
