According to Boy Genius Report, 9 to 5 Mac and now Patently Apple, Photo Booth is coming to iOS in a big way, replete with all of the bells and whistles you'd expect from 1 Infinite Loop. It looks like the OS X version of the popular photo-taking application will get a big update, too!
You may be wondering what the big deal is; after all, Photo Booth, while fun, is a pretty straightforward application, and nothing that doesn't exist in a multitude of ways, already, on iOS: there are a bunch of fun photo apps, after all. Well, the secret sauce for the iOS implementation of Photo Booth appears to be the hardware itself. First, look at one of the images submitted as part of the patent:

There are events listed for Audio, Motion, Location and Camera Data. What this means is that, basically, your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad will be able to change the filters used on your image -- and video! -- instead of having to press buttons like some iOS 4.2 luddite, letting you play around with the specifics of your phone to your hearts content at your merest whim.
To reiterate the potential awesome: Apple's about to let you change live video effects by shouting at your phone.
