Good news for Mac-addicted Google-fanatics, Picasa may become available for Mac users in 2009. According to an AppleInsider source, a new version of the software is currently undergoing beta testing.
Google had hinted towards the arrival of a Picasa client sometime in January, but this is the first of such rumors that confirms it’s in the works. A release sometime in January 2009 is possible, since Google won't usually withhold software releases because of beta status.
Regardless, the Mac version of Picasa will undoubtedly provide competition for iPhoto.
I would definately look

I would definately look forward to a picasa version for mac, I find iPhoto frustrating with its data management of photos and the fact that it does not tell you specifically what photos are and are not already uploaded to picasa web album (my main photo uploading host); generally I find Picasa to be a viable and multi-platform alternative to the only iLife program I have ever needed.
