Pinch Media Detects New iPod touch Hardware
While not as cool as a UFO, Pinch Media (an iPhone app analytics company) has detected a new iPod touch device using applications the company provides analytics for. The hardware, first discovered in April, uses the string "iPod 3,1." The usage of the new hardware was reported to be "infrequent" until more of the mystery devices started showing up in May.
Of course the analytics software can't tell us if this new iPod touch will feature a camera or what the other features might be, but these findings may point to a new iPod touch being released soon. You can read more details about the hardware on Pinch Media's website.
