As cloud storage becomes more and more commonplace in our lives, it's often hard to know which one is right for families. Pogoplug is making that decision much easier this week by introducing the $29 per year Pogoplug Family.
Pogoplug has announced a new cloud storage service aimed at families which combines local storage with the power of the new Amazon Glacier offsite storage. Called Pogoplug Family, the new offering aims to provide unlimited backup with instant access and sharing from anywhere.
"Back up all of your family’s computers and mobile devices with Pogoplug Family," the company announced on their blog Thursday. "Pogoplug Family plans begin at $29/year for 3 users, unlimited storage in the home, and 100GB of secure offsite storage. For even more protection, add up to 7 users and share up to 1TB of offsite cloud storage for just $99/year."
If you don't already own Pogoplug hardware, don't worry: Pogoplug Family comes with a free device valued at $49.95 for use in your home or office, which lets you add additional storage as time goes on.
The company is also debuting new Pogoplug Team plans this week, offering private cloud storage aimed at small businesses with plans starting at only $19 per month for 1TB and up to five users.
Both plans also include a new feature as part of the company's browser-based my.pogoplug.com portal: Files can now be dragged and drop right from the desktop and uploaded to your account.
