If you can't beat them, just pretend that they don't exist.
Despite the record smashing popularity of the iPad and the rave reviews of the new MacBook Air, Acer founder Stan Shih has commented to DigiTimes that the "fads for ultrabooks and tablet PCs are both short-term phenomena."
Wow.
Shih stated that "PCs are the base of the IT industry and tablet PCs are also developed from the base; therefore, in the future, products will still need to go through the PC platform," according to DigiTimes.
Umm, Maybe Shih and EA founder Trip Hawkins should get together and convince themselves that Cupertino has it all wrong. Maybe they already have, and are trapped in their own reality distortion field.
