There is absolutely nothing in this world that makes us happier at Mac|Life HQ than getting free things, not even tiny fuzzy kittens. So imagine how glad we were to hear that Apple has started to allow developers to issue free promotional copies of their iPhone applications.
Once an application has been accepted by Apple into the App Store, developers can issue up to 50 promotional codes for their application. The codes allow for a full copy download of applications for free. Right now promotional codes only work in the U.S. iTunes Stores by using the "Redeem" link in the App Store.
Codes can be issued for existing applications, and the 50 code limit is good for each new version of an application. These promo codes have been sought after by developers since the iTunes App Store opened. Now if only we could get free apps from Starbucks instead of songs, we'd all be set.
