Jailbreakers, we have some good news for you if you were bummed by the earlier iBooks announcement. It's the iPhone Dev-Team to the rescue for you, as the latest update to their PwnageTool is now available for your downloading dispersal. The update brings untethered jailbreaking for devices that are running iOS 4.2.1 and also fixed the iBooks issue discovered earlier which could prevent a user from opening up an iBookstore purchase on their device.
Cult of Mac reports that PwnageTool makes use of the "feedface" untether that was created by the Chronic Dev Team which allows users to do untethered jailbreaking, and is able to support all 4.2.1 devices other than the iPod touch 2G. Another tidbit that was fixed was the Wi-Fi problem that some users had been experiencing with the second-gen AppleTV.
Also, don't fret if you jailbroke your device and need access to your iBooks. You should not have to restore and jailbreak all over again with this version of PwnageTool. The iPhone Dev-Team's blog reads that fixes for both the iBooks and AppleTV Wi-Fi issue, should be available in a forthcoming Cydia package that you can download and install.
