As streaming music provider Rdio continues to duke it out with Spotify and smaller rivals, the company is shoring up its mobile apps this week with a fresh new look for both iOS and Android.
Rdio has announced new versions of its mobile apps for iOS and Android, offering subscribers of its streaming music service to access tunes faster with a sleeker user interface than before.
Rdio 2.0 introduces a new look and feel for the mobile apps, carrying over design elements which echo the company's browser-based experience on the desktop, with a focus on keeping things clean and minimal.
One of the first things Rdio mobile users will notice is a new navigation panel, which pops open from the left side of the app, ready to serve up quick access to Your Music, Settings, Playlists and more features.
Ever wanted to pick up where you left off on the desktop? Rdio 2.0's new remote control feature will let you do just that, with the mobile app notifying you if Rdio is playing elsewhere and offering to pause, skip or resume where you left off on the desktop.
Last but not least, Rdio 2.0 now offers "infinite scroll," serving up more content than ever before as you scroll through Heavy Rotation, Top Charts or New Release categories. The app update is available now from the App Store or Google Play, and as always they're free.
