Fans of Readdle's productivity apps may have noticed the pace of updates have slowed recently, but that changed this week with the arrival of Scanner Pro 4.1, a new update which brings UI parity to the iPhone and iCloud sync.
Readdle announced the availability of Scanner Pro 4.1 on Thursday, adding two very welcome features to the portable document scanning app.
As you may recall, Scanner Pro went universal with version 4.0 several weeks ago, introducing a slick new user interface for the iPad. The only bummer was that iPhone users saw the older, legacy UI -- it worked, but certainly wasn't as attractive.
That changes with the arrival of Scanner Pro 4.1, a free update which brings the same great interface to the iPhone, making it consistent with the iPad version at last.
And that's not all: Both devices can now enable automatic iCloud sync, which will push you scanned documents into Apple's cloud and keep them available from wherever you are.
This means that a document, agreement or receipt scanned and saved on the iPhone will automatically appear on the iPad and vice versa, allowing users with a tablet to take advantage of the larger display while keeping documents synced between both versions without having to do anything else.
Scanner Pro 4.1 is now available from the App Store; the update is free for existing users or $6.99 for new customers. The universal app works with any device running iOS 5.0 or later, but a camera is required to scan documents.
