10:08 am: Apple going to talk about the app store.
10:10 am: Tim Cook recapping the 25 million app downloads and the iCloud launch.
10:11: iOS 5.1 available today. Will come with Siri in Japanese.
10:12: new Apple TV also announced today. 1080p, new interface which looks al ot like iOS.
10:13: Eddy Cue now on stage talking about the new Apple TV.
10:14: "You now have access to movie you've already purchased in iCloud."
10:14: Now showing off a scene from Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Some buffer.
10:15: So yay, iTunes in the cloud supports movies.
10:16: Tim is back on stage.
10:16: The new Apple TV will have the same price point: $99. You can get your orders in today. Tim encourages you. Available March 16.
10:16: Now about the iPad. Sold 15.4 million just last quarter alone.
10:16: Cook says sold more iPads in the last quarter of last year than any PC maker sold of their PCS. Dang, dawg.
10:17: Product is only 2 years old and already it's made such a huge market change. "now when we set out to create the iPad, we set out to create not just a new product, but a new category," says Cook.
10:18: iPad users love their device. Favorite of theirs for email. Also favorite of theirs for gaming.
10:19: Part of the reason the iPad rules is because of the incredible bundled apps that come with it, and the 200,000 apps that have been built especially for its bigger screen.
10:19: iPad helps you create and learn, or do almost anything.
10:20: Products so popular, people wait for days in lines for them.
10:20: So here's the new iPad!
10:23: It's white--or that's what the pictures show.
10:24: It has Retina Display. Crap. "We're going to bring it to the 9.7 inch screen of the iPad." This presents a problem. The iPad has a higher resolution than the display they're showing the slideshow on.
10:25: 2048x1536 pixels. Holy cow. Picture is so sharp on the iPad.
10:26: 264 pixels per inch. More than 3.1 million total. (We want to know how much it's going to cost!!)
10:27: 1 million more pixels than an HDTV. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Ridiculously awesome, of course.
10:28: 40 percent better color saturation. Basically, the iPad will blow your face off with its beauty.
10:28: Also includes an A5X processor with quad-core graphics. So that, coupled with the best mobile display that has ever shipped.
10:29: New camera on the iPad to replace that old one. Now it'll have 5 megapixel camera on the back, with backside illumination, 5-elemtn lens, Hybrid IR filter and Apple-designed ISP. We'll explain the abbreviations later.
10:30: Video records at 1080p resolution.
10:31: Voice dictation on the iPad. Sounds like Siri. Now youc an type or tap on the mic to dictate what you want to say. It's not Siri.
10:33: New iPad also has LTE. Here it is, the rumors coming true.
10:33: Basically every rumor is coming true right now. Holy crap, rumor mill. Way to be spot on everyone.
10:34: HSPA +21 megabits maximum download, and Dc-HSDPA with a maximum downnload of 42 bit. LTE will enable the 73 megabits per second download. Holy crap. Can we say holy crap enough?
10:36: Schiller showing off demo of iPad on 4G loading a video faster than anyone in the room can watch it in real time. On 3G, still waiting for video to start. THE INTERNET IS FAST.
10:37: Two versions of the iPad: LTE for AT&T and LTE for Verizon because of different technologies. They're also compatible with 3G worldwide.
10:39: Same 10 hour battery live, regardless of the faster processor. On 4G, 9 hours. 9.4 mm thing, 1.4 pounds. Basically, she's a beaut.
10:40: Cost? Only $499. How they got such a low cost for those Retina Displays is beyond me.
10:41: $99, $599, $600 for 16/32/64GB and $129 more for 4G models. Avaiable on March 16, preorders start today. So you won't have to wait in line. Comes in black and white. I wish it came in purple.
10:42: Safari will also have the benefit of the Retina Display. Good for it!
10:43: Now developers are showing off some apps. First is Namco. Pac Man in Retina! The future of gaming! I'm being kind of sarcastic! And actually it's not Pac Man on screen. Sorry, Namco. That was mean.
10:44: Demos, demos. We can't show you anything, sorry. We'll just say there's lots of water, light, sky, city graphics. Your standard Blade Runner scenery to show how beautiful the Retina Display is. Harrison Ford would approve. He probably does.
10:47: 50 jets in the air dogfighting at once. Because war movies are best watched on the iPad, while you're cuddling up with your kitten.
10:48: Autodesk, Sketchbook for the new iPad. It's called SketchBook Ink and it's a drawing app that's all about line art. Because, guys, lots of people are using their iPads for art-ing. I personally think this is awesome.
10:50: Okay, time to see Infinity Blade. Here's Mike Capps!
10:51: "You guys are in for a visual feast." Infinity Blade Dungeons! IT'S SO MIDEVIL-Y. I love it.
10:51: It looks really good. Impressive graphics. What else would you expect from an Apple Tablet?
10:54: Phil Schiller back on stage talking about iWork.
10:55: iWork has ben updated, iLife, GarageBand.
10:56: GarageBand will include Smart Strings, Note Editor, Jam Session, iCloud integration.
10:57: Jam Session lets four people with iPads pay together.
10:58: Free update if you already own it. GarageBand is $4.99.
10:59: iMovie includes updates too, like advanced planning and editing tools. With that new camera, it'll be worth it making movies with your iPad.
11:00: The new one lets you create movie trailers, too. Just like on the Mac.
11:01: iMovie will also be $4.99. Free update available today.
11:02: iPhoto for iPad. Hmm.
11:02: Includes Smart Browsing, Multi-touch editing, Brushes, Photo beaming (which lets you beam high resolution photos between devices--high tech!).
11:03: Editing interface very flexible. Can be flipped left or right. Some icons look like from Mac versions, some don't.
11:05: Includes Gestures that let you swipe around. Can flag photos and then tap on the thumbnail to view those flagged photos. Share to Twitter, email, Facebook. Standard iPhoto affair.
11:05: Lets you edit up to 19 megapixel images.
11:06: iPhoto can also automatically analyze your photos and straighten them for you, so you won't have to do that annoying slider thingy.
11:06: Crop tool also has multitouch features. Pinch them apart, pan around it, turn your hand to rotate the photo (or use a dial at the bottom), change the cropping by touching a corner, and more. There's also a neat exposure tool that lets you adjust brightness, etc. by just touching the screen.
11:08: Basically, your Mac has been rendered useless. You don't even need it for photo editing. Dang.
11:11: Everything in iPhoto works in real time, which really shows off the power of the iPad's processor.
11:12: iPhoto also has has this Journal features, which autoamtically lays photos out onto the pages by day. You could do this while you're on vakay and share it with friends via iCloud . Rub it in their faces about all the fun you're having while they're at work slaving away.
11:13: iPhoto is $4.99. Schiller back on stage. He's gonna tell us more probs.
11:14: Now Schiller is showing a demo. iPhoto has a new logo.
11:17: No name yet.
11:17: Recap: iPad 3rd-gen gets Retina Display 2048x1536 resolution with a new 5 megapixel camera, 1080p video recording, A5X processor, LTE 4G support, updated iLife suite, and our approval.
11:21: iPad 2 stays in the line up. It's now just $399. All those people who just bought one for Christmas are gonna be pissed they're still paying off their credit card.
11:22: Tim is back. What can it be?
11:22: Cook is thanking everyone at Apple. Saying that he hopes we can see why he believes the iPad has enormous potential as the poster child of a post-PC world. Sir, we've already been on that bandwagon.
11:23: Saying there's a lot to look forward to in 2012. Tim Cook has left the stage.
