Let's see, we've had our refresh of the MacBook Pro now, as well as the iPad. What's next on the docket? The iMac perhaps? A new rumor today has supplies tightening for the product, and you know what that can only mean!
9 to 5 Mac is reporting that they have been told by three people that are familiar with the pending refresh - all of whom are in different countries which include the U.S. and an Asian country - that iMac supplies are indeed beginning to become constrained.
One source - Mr. X - says that supplies for the iMac have tightened significantly, which has never happened during the current model's life-cycle.
Other tipsters throughout the U.S. have also reported that their iMac shipments are tightening up as well. However, it's not just the actual iMac shipments that are tightening, but actual iMac components as well, mainly iMac graphics processors, as well as hard drives. The lack of said components can usually be a pretty good hint at a pending refresh.
The source in the Asian country is reporting that the 21.5 inch iMacs are becoming very constrained, moreover the 3.06 GHz model, and the other three models are close approaching the constrained state.
So if you're in the market to upgrade your current iMac, or wanting to add another Apple workhorse to your lineup, you may want to hold off for a little while longer!
