If you still haven't had your fill of rumors now that the iPhone 5s/5c business is finally out in the open, consider this: French site MacGeneration has heard that the next Apple event will be on October 15. 9to5 Mac notes that we should all take such news with a grain of salt since MacGeneration has a spotty record when it comes to rumors, but the date fits earlier projections that we'd see the release of Mavericks sometime in late October.
The report also mentioned that existing stock for Mac products is also a little strained right now, which usually points to an upcoming release of a new product. Not only could it be a good time for the release of the new Mac Pro in addition to Mac OS X Mavericks, but we're also looking forward to updated versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the spiffy new Haswell processors.
As 9to5 Mac rightly points out, the timing seems right, too. Last year, the new iPad, a new iMac, and the iPad mini were announced during an October event that followed September's announcement of the iPhone 5. This year could see a mirror of the same progression. In addition to the release of Mavericks and the units mentioned above, we expect that Apple will announce a new version of the iPad and the long-awaited iPad mini with Retina display.
