Rumor: Next iPhone Pre-orders to Begin September 30

9to5Mac is reporting that Apple plans to begin pre-orders for the next iPhone on September 30 in anticipation for an October 7 launch. According to sources, Apple has been mulling on whether to release the new iPhone on October 7 or October 14, but decided with the former because of how quickly production is moving along.
Apple has still not officially announced or finalized a pre-order start date, or a launch date for the iPhone. It's also rumored that the company will release two different versions of the iPhone: one as an upgrade, and possibly a cheaper, pre-paid model. It's also likely that the update will feature a faster processor, a better camera and, of course, iOS 5.
There've been plenty of mixed stories about when the next iPhone is slated for release, and whether or not it'll take the fire from Apple's annual iPod even. Stay tuned to Maclife.com as this story develops.
