The probability of a new iPhone dropping into our grubby little hands is about 99.99% right now. Phil said it would happen, and Phil would never lie to us. Would you Phil? Yeah, he wouldn't.
We got information from a Taiwanese source who is friends with an OEM supplier for the iPhone. Our source tells us that Apple is planning on releasing a pink version of their next generation iPhone. This is based on information he was given by his OEM producing friend.
Whether the new pink iPhone will be part of a larger colorification of the mobile phone isn't clear. Apple currently sells a (RED) version of its iPod nano. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the nano are donated to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. A pink iPhone could be Apple's foray into Breast Cancer awareness.
Or they just want to all those insane Hello Kitty fans to buy iPhones. Whatever the reason, until Phil, Tim, or possibly Jobs himself, pulls a pink iPhone out of their pocket, we'll continue to debate the two color choices available for purchase.

I’ve been searching around the Web for about an hour looking for news of an “official” Apple release of a pink iPhone. So far, I haven’t found too much more than rumor and speculation.

I think that if you associated a pink iPhone with Breast Cancer awareness in some way, people would definitely purchase. Obviously the target market would remain mostly female though.

Can't you just get an iPhone that is already out and get a pink case for it? You will most likely get a case to protect it anyway.

While I would most likely go for a black iPhone (or a dark cobalt blue if that is ever offered) my wife goes crazy over pink electronics. She has a pink camera, pink headphones for her iPod and I am sure if Subaru made a pink outback sport she would have that too. So pink for me, no; pink for her, yes.

thats such an ugly pink! thats horrible! but i doubt its true, i could make any old iPhone pic look like its pink in iPhoto in like 30 seconds!

I always said that I'd get an iPhone the second I could get one on Verizon. But a pink iPhone just may make me switch.
