Is it just us, or do you get the impression that the next iPhone will have a camera lens separated from the LED flash? That certainly seems to be the case as more and more evidence keeps turning up, including this new photo of an alleged fifth-generation iPhone part.
AppleInsider is reporting that a new photo has turned up which appears to be the back panel of the next-generation iPhone. According to Apple.pro, the part seems to confirm that the next handset from Apple will have a separate camera lens and LED flash, with the components now at the far edge of each side.
“Moving the lens and LED flash farther apart could allow for better quality pictures on a next-generation iPhone,” AppleInsider notes. “Such a change can reduce the red eye effect that sometimes appears in photos.”
Apple.pro notes that the original image came from a microblog and thus the authenticity of the image could not be verified. However, the evidence continues to mount that this may indeed be the real thing, with an alleged “iPhone 5G” case turning up recently (only to be pulled by Apple legal) which showed the same layout.
A recent rumor now pegs the fifth-generation iPhone hitting stores in October, presumably after a September announcement at Apple’s annual music-centric event.
