Even the most grizzled and heartless among us in this society will be forced to let out an audible "squee" at the incredible amount of adorableness we found when we were informed of Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure. It's a flash game designed by a father and his 5-year-old daughter.
The game is a simple adventure game that takes only about ten to fifteen minutes, but it's a great experience while it lasts. All of the art is drawn by the little girl she also provides the voice of the main character and (we can only assume) helped inspire the story. The story follows a girl named Sissy who travels through rainbows to rescue "ponycorns" (a pony mixed with a unicorn) and put them in jars.
The product itself is adorable enough on its own, but then when we started thinking about its creation we got a little choked up. Here's a father who wanted to include his daughter in his work, and in the video game industry (which is infamous for monopolizing the lives of fathers) that's an admirable thing thing. Just thinking about the two of them working on it together is just beautiful.
The game also includes a link at the bottom where players can donate to the young girl's (named Cassie) education fund. Donations are, as of this writing, currently up to $1561 with the top donator forking over a whopping $150. So if you've got a few spare minutes this weekend, hop on over to the website and give the game a try. While you're at it, consider making a small donation to this young girl's future. Something tells us she'll be huge in the gaming industry some day. We can't wait for the sequel.
