The Flash fashion is so passe. Everyone knows that the best things in life are encoded in HTML 5 and available for all the world to see, regardless of the smartphone you've got in your hand. The new Skyfire browser, ready to set foot inside the App Store, converts video from the old school Adobe Flash into the next generation HTML 5 code it needs for all systems to go.
The Skyfire browser, out in the world since May 2010 and just recently approved by Apple, has already been available for Google's Android platform and has racked up more than 1.5 million downloads. Now, it's time for iOS to have its cake and eat it, too.
To convert files to HTML 5, the Skyfire browsers offer a link to a selectable thumbnail which then allows the content to be streamed to the device, rather than to have the browser itself load the Flash applet. Unfortunately, games will not work with Skyfire because of the interactivity element.
