Smile! You're on iPod touch Camera!
With the iPhone 3GS finally here, it's time to shift the rumors to the next generation iPods. Specifically, the iPod touch and iPod nano, both are rumored to have cameras in them starting in September.
A TechCrunch source in Asia reports that Apple is ordering a massive number of camera modules, the same that are integrated in the iPhone, and cost about $10 each. While this information is exciting, if this does happen, we're not holding our breath that Apple will add video editing to the iPod touch.
MacRumors found a case for the iPod touch, which features a camera hole, located at the top area, adding more circumstantial evidence to an iPod touch with a camera.

Would you buy an iPod touch with a camera? Drop your answer in the comments.

Hellz Yeah! Especially if they can squeeze at least a 3 MP in it.

I too hope that they will put a 3 MP camera in it. Hopefully it will also have video enabled. However, Apple does have a history of shortchanging iPod touch users, from the initial lack of key iPone features like email, to the lack of transit and walking direction support on the maps app, to the tiny tinny speaker on the back of the 'touch. You do have to give apple a good amount of credit, though, as many features separating the iPod touch from the iPhone have been added. We'll just have to wait and see.

the lack of a camera (and a memory slot) were the primary reasons why i didnt get a touch, but since a camera will hopefully be added, then i am not going to worry about the expandable memory...although the expandable memory would be a nice touch as well.

wow if this does happen Flip video is going out of business. An ipod touch with video would be once again a whole new level of mp3 players
