As great as a streaming music service as Spotify is, it’s sometimes easy to get lost among all those tracks. How can you find songs you’re truly interested in? The company is making it a bit easier this week, announcing a new partnership with SoundHound to aid in your discovery of new tracks -- although for right now, it’s only for our friends across the pond.
Spotify has announced a new partnership with SoundHound, the popular music discovery app available for iOS and Android. Starting Thursday, Spotify fans in Europe can use SoundHound to discover new music around them, then tap the new “Play Now in Spotify” button to get instant gratification.
The feature is available on both iOS and Android versions of SoundHound (free or paid), but you’ll need a Spotify Premium subscription to listen to full tracks and explore even more music from the tagged artist in question. With more than 15 million tracks available to Spotify users in Europe, users should have no shortage of new music to discover around them.
And as Spotify reminds us on their blog, “One of SoundHound’s features that we just love is that you can hum or sing a song into your phone and they’ll identify it for you. So get your best singing voice ready and download SoundHound now.”
Now, about this "Europe only" business...
