The creator of the much beloved, and highly successful iOS game Space Invaders Infinity Gene has announced that he is hard at work on a new project. Though he's not exactly being forthcoming with the details.
In short, the game's creator Reisuke Ishida, has released absolutely zero details about the upcoming game other than this lone piece of artwork. It features the iconic Atari Space Invaders alien spaceship wearing oversized headphones with the words "Groove Coaster" spelled out in dots underneath it.
The natural assumption is that this will be some kind of a rhythm game though that's a nearly baseless assumption.
Space Invaders Infinity Gene was one of the earliest classic iOS games. Rather than rehashing an old formula to make a quick buck, Infinity Gene reinvented itself to understand the iPhone platform with easy to understand touch screen controls and gameplay.
We'll be very interested to see what his next project will be, but right now all we have to go on is a name along with the promise that it will be "an exhilarating next-gen groove game!" Whatever that means.
