Spotify Awaits iTunes Approval
The battle between paying for tracks and subscribing to a service could find a battleground on the iPhone. BBC News reported that Spotify submitted an application to the iTunes App Store. If approved, iPhone users will be able to stream millions of songs, possibly cutting the purpose of buying music through the iTunes Store. They will also be able to share songs and playlists over the air without any restrictions. However, playlists may only be stored temporarily.

Spotify plans to offer the app for free. A monthly subscription will cost £9.99 ($20) and is only available in Europe. Spotify hopes to bring the service to our shores by the end of the year.
