Square Enix Crystal Defenders Coming to App Store - In Japan
If you didn't know, we here at Maclife are fluent in Japanese... Google translate Japanese that is. This mastery of language as allowed us to translate today's Square Enix's press release that they are developing an RGB for the iPhone and iPod touch. "Crystal Defenders" is set to be released this December, in Japan.
This will be Square Enix's first leap into iPhone/ iPod touch gaming. Japanese users can look forward to a variety of maps and monsters to battle, all the while staying out of harms way, unless you sprang a finger, then say goodbye to your hp. Warriors, wizards, and all around bad asses will be available to you to help defeat baddies, obtain crystals, and protect the crystals.
Based on the very few screen captures, Crystal Defenders mostly resembles a late 90's version of Final Fantasy Tactics. There are about 300 stages for you to gain hit points, magic points, and kill time in boring conference meetings. You don't have time to worry about the financial down fall of your company when you are busy defending crystals and saving the world. If you're in Japan that is. We hope to see Square Enix make an American version of this, but there is currently nothing mentioned on their mobile gaming site, but we will be sure to tell you once there is.
