Last week Apple fans went crazy over the fact that TJ Max (and it's sister chain Marshalls) announced they would be selling the 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad for only $399.99. With an almost $100 departure from Apple's pricing, one person turned to Steve Jobs' email address for some answers. What he replied, however, is somewhat surprising.
According to 9to5 Mac, a reader emailed a question to Steve Jobs asking, "Why would you let TJ Maxx of all places undercut the iPad prices by $100?"
Steve Jobs, in regular fashion, emailed back with a short message stating, "They are not an authorized reseller."

So how did TJ Maxx and Marshalls get their hands on a fairly substantial amount of 16GB Wi-Fi iPads? We sure don't know, but 9to5 Mac believes it may be leftover stock from Apple's falling out with Costco.
