Apple has had a tough time keeping up with insatiable demand for the iPad 2 since its went on sale in the U.S. March 11, but last week the dark clouds parted and let some tablet sunshine come through, with shipping times reduced to three to five days -- and now they’ve shrunk yet again.
CNNMoney’s Apple 2.0 blog is reporting that iPad 2 models of all types are finally available with shipping times of only “one to three days,” only a week after dropping to “three to five days.”
“Reader Howard Kaplan noticed Saturday morning that they have since fallen to one to three business days, which is about as fast as Apple can get any product out the door,” reported Philip Elmer-DeWitt over the weekend.
Prior to ship times falling to “three to five days” on July 8, Apple’s online store appeared eternally stuck at “one to two weeks” -- which was certainly less than most early adopters had to put up with a few months ago.
Assuming the rumors aren’t true about a new iPad model on the way this fall, it appears that yet another long national nightmare is finally over. iPad 3, anyone?
