I'm sure there are other quilters who have the new iPad2. We would like quilt designing apps and any other quilt related program.

Given the fact that all Apps are designed to stimulate the senses - then the next App should do the opposite.
A type of Meditation App (Medi App).
It will work either by producing a "white noise" effect - thus providing the necessary separation from the world of audio input OR by producing a single, low note (whale-like) to induce calm sensation for meditation purposes.
Happy days Apple!

I would really like a MacLife iPad magazine that I can access if I already have a subscription to the dead tree magazine. I enjoy reading on the iPad, and much prefer to not have the clutter of dozens of magazines laying around.

I would like all of the above (plus multitasking) and I want the app to be free and support the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Seriously, nothing matters much until you make an app with iPad resolution.
That and putting all the content of an article on the app page...
we have to link to safari way too often to see a pic or make a comment.

I honestly have to say, none of the above. I would really like a MacLife iPad magazine that I can access if I already have a subscription to the magazine. I know that isn't what you want to do, but you're MacLife, you could make it cool and add in some bells and whistles to make it something unique.

I like, from our 5 choices, number 3. However, my real REAL desire that a MacLife App should deliver is fullscreen iPad capability as native to the App. I don't necessarily want to view in browser. I'd like the App itself to generate full screen viewing.

I like idea number 2 and the second idea number 4. More importantly, fix it so that it stays logged in to Twitter instead of requiring me to type my username and password every time I want to tweet a link to one of your articles. Instapaper support is also a must!

How about multitasking...I hate that I'm reading something and then I get a txt message and when I go back to your app I loose where I was.

Of those listed, numbers 4 and 5 are the most interesting to me, however, I don't think any of the 5 are good enough ideas to make a paid app.

The MacLife App for iPad should be really like the iPhone one. But with Push alerts with braking news from Apple about new OS, iOS updates and new products. Also U can't do anything the iPad app you all have now. Its need to delete from the App store.

I pay via Zinio for the electronic version of MACWORLD, which I read on my iPad and MBP. I'd love to be able todo the same with Mac|Life.

Think about it.

I like #2 and #5 (no one has pointed out yet that you've listed #4 twice).

Though what I think I'd like most would be an app that aggregates maclife.com, so for example I could see all the "Free App Friday" postings, or all Case Reviews. Just a way to browse maclife.com by similar article type.

Seems like a great idea make extra great features and it will be GREAT!!!

CHOICE ONE RULES!!!

Don't bother with a new app, instead improve you iPhone app. You always cover other people getting cool features but you don't update yourslef
So do this:
1.Multitasking
2.Stability
3.Speed
4. Notifications sent when new stories are posted
5. Slideshows
6.Video

Is it possible to put maclife on zinio? I want the ability to read the magazine as a straight PDF file. This is probably an issue for the greater publisher and above your heads

5 sounds nice.

avatar

kwaxuyeoma

Any of the above. I'm more concerned with the design and user experience. Currently the Mac | Life app is underwhelming.

More reader interaction for sure. Yeah, leaving the app just so i can comment is weak..like I just had to do to write this.

How about a daily contest for MacLife related photos or videos made by macs (ie. Final Cut,Motion,iPhones apps). That would be get you plenty of free publicity and be fun for us.

Camera support on the app would be a nice touch.

I also love when you guys come out with fake Mac products based loosely on patents and wishlists. I got a few of my own I would submit.

....None of the above

1 and 4 would be cool. another thing they can do on the iphone app is add retina display supported stuff

avatar

rayansud

All of the above :D
Also what chubs0078 said was good
But really, all are great.

avatar

Agent X68

a deals app would be nice, also, free would be good

avatar

dan.deur

I would like 4 and 5 those both sound really cool... but Free would be better

avatar

Austin_tacious

I would say that you should add more features, especially trying to stay away from having to use a built in browser to view videos, read and post comments, etc.

As for the list, I would pick 4 and 5(4 number two?)

chubs0078

Muli tasking, the ability to comment on an article from the app without having to go to safari, please please please let me save articles for future viewing and reference, how about a section dedicated just to apple rumors, a voting system where users can submit what app they want reviewed then say once a week you can choose the most asked for app download it and do a full review.

avatar

arjay67

Make it free. At least for subscribers.

avatar

Andarian

When are you going to update the iPhone app? It's in some serious need of multi-tasking and retina display enhancements.

avatar

TeraS

The deals idea sounds interesting, so prolly that one...

The other ones you can, mostly, get from reading your articles when they appear so I don't see where that adds value to the app, or are so trivial as an addition that it cheapens the app I think..

Would be nice to have access to your videos through the app otherwise...
