CNET's Brian Tong, by way of MacRumors.com, offers up word that Apple will be releasing iMac updates featuring Intel's Sandy Bridge processor and Thunderbolt (both of which most recently seen in the latest MacBook Pro updates).
Tong cites a "reliable source," saying that the iMacs are currently en route via ocean transport to the U.S., and will be available "end of April or 1st week of May." If this source is correct, the new iMac will feature no major cosmetic changes, and information about any internal changes is limited to the processor, and the new hotness that is Thunderbolt.
An iMac refresh wouldn't be surprising, given that this is the standard time for Apple to push out new models, nor would the inclusion of Sandy Bridge or Thunderbolt. Still, it's nice to know that Apple isn't leaving their desktop models out in the cold.
