The Angry Birds aren't the only feathered characters raking in the cash on the App Store this week. Indie sensation Tiny Wings has stormed the App Store and won over thousands of hearts. It's adorable concept (trying to help a little bird fly) has propelled it into the top 10 Top Grossing list on the App Store, and it's doing even better in the UK.
The 99 cent game entered the all-important list at number nine on the U.S. Top Grossing list, and is practically dominating in the UK as it reached number one and number two on the top downloaded and top grossing games lists (respectively).
Tiny Wings [iTunes Link] is a unique type of platformer in which your must manage your momentum in order to vault off of hills and into the sky. As mentioned, your tiny bird protagonist can't fly on his own due to his eponymous tiny wings. The player helps the birdy ramp off of hills to achieve the dream of flight. Having tested this one ourselves we can attest to its addictive powers. The game's design is simple and utterly adorable. It's really not much of a surprise that Tiny Wings has captured the attention of App Store gamers.
