Can't wait to dive into the buffet of new features iOS 6 is going to deliver tomorrow? Well, here are some snacks to hold you over, courtesy of Twitter. This morning, the company announced a slew of updates for its mobile apps, including a spiffy new profile page and interface for the iPad.
The update delivers a a Facebook-like cover photo on profile pages for iOS and Android devices, and now both iPhone and iPad users can swipe left and right to view images in a photo stream. Most of the new features, however, were focused on bringing the Twitter for iPad app up to speed.

In a blog post earlier today, Twitter Product Manager Sung Hu Kim stated that the Twitter for iPad app was "rebuilt from the ground up to make it fast, beautiful and easy to use." The iPad app, which now includes many of the features previously built into the Twitter for iPhone app, "makes it easy to keep up with the news you need to read, the photos you want to see and the people you follow."
Twitter for iPad now includes a Discover page to screen trending topic and popular news stories as well as a Connect page to highlight retweets and mentions. Taking advantage of the larger screen, iPad users can now view photos, play videos, and read links in fullscreen mode.
Twitter apps for all devices are free, and available for download here.
