Whether or not Apple is playing hardball, and singling out Flash, it will certainly be PERCEIVED that way. At the very least by Adobe, and some of the grumpier tech press and bloggers. It will be interesting to see if the Flash compiled apps get barred at the door.

But I sounds very much that Apple is seeking to control and define the entire iPhone/iPad ecology, from top to bottom, hardware, software, OS, App and web contend, developer SDK... IT makes certain engineering and tactical sense. But the PR story is a lot less comfortable.

What's shaping up is an Adobe vs Apple vs Google vs Microsoft throwdown, with unknown consequences for users. The next few months should be VERY interesting.
