We didn't think we would be able to top the coolness factor of last week's walking iPads, but someone has surely done it. Here we have the USB typewriter keyboard. It's not just any old keyboard either, this one looks, feels, and sounds just like a typewriter.
The typewriter was dreamed up by DIYer Jack Zylkin who now operates http://www.usbtypewriter.com/ while it is shown on an iPad with the Camera Connection Kit, the keyboard will also work with a Mac or PC as well.
But the fun doesn't stop with the YouTube video (embed below), because you too can turn an old typewriter lying around into your own keyboard. Zylkin is selling DIY kits on Etsy starting at $75.00, or you can buy a completely finished typewriter keyboard for upwards of $500.00US.
We would personally like to see a Steampunk version with an iPad or MacBook dock.
