Verizon CEO Kills the iPhone Dream

Forgive us for not being entirely objective, but we let out a large groan when we read this headline. Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg hinted at a recent Goldman Sachs conference that we shouldn't bet on the possibility of a Verizon version of the iPhone any time soon.
It's not like we've been holding out for a CDMA iPhone, anyway. It's just that the internet is already so over saturated with these rumors that we're sort of aching for a straight answer. Is it, or is it not happening? Seidenberg did share a bit of his optimism, adding that, "I think 4G will accelerate the process , and any other decisions Apple makes would be fine with us. Hopefully, at some point Apple will get with the program."
The program, Seidenberg? We're hoping that he's talking about the release of LTE, the next generation of mobile networks, and not just insinuating that Verizon has some sort of inherent right to the iPhone. As of now, AT&T still has the exclusivity deal. And Verizon has plenty of other high profile phones to wade through, like their brand new Motorola Droid 2 and the HTC Incredible.
