Sure, now may not be the best time to get an iPhone 4 with rumors that Apple is ready to start manufacturing the next model for release in September, but that won’t stop the carriers from trying to entice you anyway -- such as Verizon Wireless, who may be dropping the existing model by nearly $50 soon.
9to5Mac is reporting that the 16GB iPhone 4 may soon get a nice little price drop, at least on Verizon Wireless. According to VZBuzz, a leaked image appears to show a forthcoming Verizon web-only discount on many popular models, and tucked away in the lower left corner is none other than the 16GB iPhone 4 for only $150.99.
“Perhaps the iPhone 4 is your phone of choice so how about a possible sale price of $150.99 which is an unheard of price break courtesy of Big Red,” the report reveals. “Apple is known for their fair pricing model which usually only providers retailers with a window of around $10 or so to discount devices. A $49.99 price break is almost to good to be true.”
Of course, as 9to5Mac points out, Walmart offered an even better deal on the iPhone 4 last month for only $147, so that lends some credence to the Verizon rumor. After all, with Apple reportedly having placed an order for 15 million iPhone 5 units to ship in September, it’s time to start clearing the shelves for the next model anyway…
