If you thought that Verizon was just going to prop the iPad up with their other offerings and leave it at that, think again -- the telco has just released their first commercial touting the magic combo of the iPad with MiFi.
Entitled “Breakaway,” the 30-second spot features a man sitting alone in the center of a room with his Wi-Fi only iPad. He pulls the MiFi out of his pocket, fires it up and begins browsing via Mobile Safari. The camera then pulls back as the ceiling and walls break away to reveal that he’s really sitting atop a hill next to the ocean, happily browsing away with his Verizon 3G data plan.
“Introducing iPad… on Verizon,” the voiceover announcer says. “All the magic of iPad… all the nationwide power and reliability of Verizon.”
The spot is slick enough that you’d think it was done by Apple themselves, and it wisely doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel by showing off what the iPad can do -- it simply focuses on selling Verizon as a better network solution than the built-in AT&T 3G.
Kind of makes us eager to see how Verizon might sell an iPhone…
