Over the weekend, Apple released their first television commercial for the new iPad 2, likely to the frustration of the many who continue to find their store shelves bare of the refreshed tablet -- but it’s a cool commercial, just the same.
MacRumors is reporting that Apple released the first television commercial dedicated to the iPad 2 on Saturday, titled simply “We Believe.” The new spot takes “a philosophical approach,” focusing on the overall experience of using the device rather than technical capabilities, as competitors such as the Motorola Xoom have done.
“This is what we believe: Technology alone is not enough,” remarks the familiar voice of actor Peter Coyote in the spot’s narration. “Faster, thinner, lighter... those are all good things. But when technology gets out of the way, everything becomes more delightful... even magical. That's when you leap forward. That's when you end up with something like this.”
The 30-second spot is sure to be only the beginning of a series, which in typical Apple fashion take a more laid-back, subtle approach to marketing their devices than the competition.
Did you catch the spot this weekend? If not, it’s embedded below, and also available on either YouTube or Apple’s website. Check it out!
